The 21st September earthquake (Magnitude 6.3 on Richter Scale) which struck east Bhutan has caused unprecedented damages.
The remote villages and the people in eastern Bhutan have lost much of the progress made over the last few decades. 12 people were killed. 2800 families lost everything. More than 4000 houses including Government structures have been destroyed.

The people of Bhutan have come together to help these families rebuild their lives. In our efforts we seek contributions from our friends and well-wishers outside Bhutan. I think I'm getting closer to guessing rightly as to who you are - definitely a member of the UK-Bhutan Society! Not a Bhutanese by origin, but surely a Bhutanese citizen ...How close am I?
